Only about 2 months left until our reunion!! Plans are coming together for a whole day of fun. Glad to see so many people signing up and registering. The price is now $45.00 a person which includes the picnic and the evening reception at the Warwick Yacht Club.
Most of us are keeping up with the reunion details through the Facebook page (Jon just added a great pep talk for anyone who is on the fence about coming), but now that we are getting closer we should have more details here too. Just so you know we will be dancing to Brother Lucy and there will be cake. See you soon!

Hope everyone had a great holiday season
Now, believe it or not, it is officially the year of our 20th year reunion! Which means it is time to really get going on preparation and registration. At this point only a few alumni have actually paid for their ticket. We are setting the fee at $35.00 a ticket for the whole day’s events. Non-alumni adult partners who are attending do need a ticket too, but we are not charging per child at the family picnic. The evening event is adult only and we need to have an idea of how many will be attending. There are “Event pages” set up on the Facebook account, so you can RSVP.
The ticket prices will be going up in the spring because we want to encourage people to pay as soon as possible. We have to put some deposits down and want to start preparing so we can have as fabulous a reunion as possible! The Paypal account does take checking accounts or credit cards even if you do not have a Paypal account. If there is a problem paying this way please contact us so we can get you registered somehow! We do not want any of our classmates to miss out on our 20th reunion
Time to Pay, Pal
It took me far too long, but I did get a link up on the sidebar to connect to our new Paypal account. Could not get one of the nifty buttons to work. We are requesting folks start sending a deposit payment so that we have some funds to work with and so you can secure your spot in August. If you pay $25.00 now you will not have to pay extra for both events. Later on we plan to have two prices for the separate events. We will be budgeting as strictly as possible so that the fee will not be much higher, but it will be going up as we get closer to the event. Pay now, and get into both events for a super low price! We will adjust according to the sole price for the evening function. Spouses and other guests will be separate still, though you can reserve a spot for them too.
Also, we are discussing entertainment. We are determining whether we should hire a band, DJ or make our own entertainment. One proposal is to have a Monarch Talent show of sorts. Anyone who has not been able to show off their Show Choir skills, play an instrument or maybe has learned a new talent since graduation will be welcomed to sign up and show us what you’ve (still) got! We are going to plan a meeting for a different day, place, and time in November so that more people may be able to come to help plan and organize this event. Tentatively it will be in the afternoon of Sunday November 14 at the Panera in Denbigh. We seriously would love to have as many Monarchs as possible help. Remember, if two or three people plan this whole thing alone, you will get only our ideas and input. We want to have a great reunion and look forward to catching up with everyone. Meeting: October 16
Sorry I slacked on posting the blog. We will be meeting this Saturday at Chick-Fil-A 9:30 to do more planning. It was great to see new faces at the meeting in September
We have secured Warwick Yacht Club for the Saturday evening reunion event. However, we need to verify that the date we have chosen is available, so, unfortunately that is subject to change. We hope no one has made unchangeable plans based on the first choice, but since we have an opportunity to get teh venue at a fab price, through one of our fab alumni, we have to take the chance. I believe we will still be going for August. The afternoon Family Event will be at Riverview Park near our alma mater and may include the added entertainment of a visit to the building, so we can all show our loved ones where we braved our teen years.
Meanwhile, it is time to start going through your memory boxes and find all of the great pictures you have from Back in the Day. Send them to one of the email accounts or to the Facebook page, so we can use them for our slide show and decor.
Also, please keep spreading the word. We have info up on most of the reunion sites, but we know some folk may have limited access to the Net. If you know anyone who should be at our reunion (even staff, faculty or Monarchs of other years) let them know what we are planning! And let us know how we can contact them. THanks!
Planning Meeting #3
We will meet at Chick-Fil-A on Victory Blvd (York County, by SuperK) Saturday September 18, 2010 at 9am. Anyone is welcome to come and put in 2 cents (or more) for the reunion plans. Hope to see some more faces there!

Planning Update: August 21, 2010
The chosen date of the reunion is now the weekend of August 13, 2011. Most people who voted chose that date and this gives us a full year to prepare. Location plans still need to be finalized, and we need an idea of how many people will attend in order to get prices set, so it is time for another fun poll
We know many people will be traveling which makes Sunday harder, but we also thought having two events in one day might be too much (we are getting older-lol) ;D The suggested casual get together at a local bar/club on Friday night (probably Schooner’s) will NOT be part of the fees.
Please continue to direct any alumni or interested former Monarchs to the Facebook group or have them send their contact information to one of the emails, so we can keep everyone informed. We would love to hear any more sugestions or ideas from you all. The next Planning Committee meeting will be September 18, 2010 at 9:30am in Chick-fil-A on Victory Blvd. (SuperK shopping center). Join us!

Stephanie is gathering names and addresses and making a contact file. You can send your info, or anyone’s you think may be interested, either to the email listed here, the Facebook group or directly to Stephanie who has her email on the FB page too (link on sidebar). More planning will be happening this weekend at Chick Fil-A in Y-town if anyone else wants to meet and help. That is tomorrow Saturday August 21st at 9:30 am.
Hello Monarchs!
The Class of 1991′s 20th year reunion is being planned now for the summer of 2011. A small committee met on Saturday afternoon to begin preliminary planning, but we are still open for ideas and anyone’s input or assistance.
The overwhelming sense that we have gotten from the Facebook group and outside discussion is that people want to keep it relatively simple and focus more on socializing than partying at this reunion. We will have a family picnic in the afternoon and an adult-oriented event in the evening. At this point they are both planned to be on the Saturday of the chosen weekend. The three dates being discussed are June 25th, July 30th and August 13th 2011. We would like to get a vote for which date would be best. There is also expected to be a casual get-together at Schooner’s that Friday night.
We plan to do most of the communication and updating electronically and are currently putting together an updated list of information so we can reach as many of our classmates as possible. Please join our Facebook group or contact menchvillemonarchs@ymail for more information, to help plan or if you have any questions that we may be able to answer.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up after 20 long years!
